ATLANTA RENEGADES RFC
The Renegades rugby club is Atlanta’s premiere team. With a deep history, many prominent alumni, a rich legacy of camaraderie, charity, and winning sides, we welcome all to participate (or spectate or just hang out with us)!
As a club, we have created a not-for-profit organization to raise funds – we plan to build a pitch and facility to serve as a legacy for all Renegades and rugby enthusiasts throughout Georgia.
We ask that you join us and be a part of this endeavor to build the finest rugby facility in the South.
Renegades – past and present,
I hope each and every one of you is proud of your association with Atlanta Renegades RFC and the lifelong friendships you developed as a Renegade. I personally consider my introduction to the Renegades in 1993 to be a pivotal moment in my life, which has provided numerous blessings.
Renegades Forever – a charitable organization with 501(c)(3) tax status – was created to honor those who came before us and to pave the way for future generations to experience the Renegades’ camaraderie and participate in the greatest team sport! Renegades Forever has two (2) primary goals:
- Rugby Facility: Renegades Forever is collecting funds to develop a rugby facility that will serve as a legacy for all Renegades and rugby enthusiasts of all ages throughout Georgia. Renegades Forever, in its first couple of years has raised in excess of $400,000. We estimate that approximately $1,000,000 is necessary for land purchase and development. The estimate is very rough as the price for land acquisition is difficult to estimate until options are located.
- Renegades Rugby Success: The Renegades RFC is presently in a state of rebuilding and in immediate need of funding for operations, which includes, among other things, Coaching, Recruiting, Field space (practice and games), Organization dues, and associated costs. Renegades Forever has committed to raising funds for an operating budget between $30,000 and $40,000 annually. While I realize many of you believe that the players should sustain the operating expenses, unfortunately, in the present economics and scarcity of available fields, expecting young players to carry such a burden is unrealistic.
Renegades—We have roughly 200 active living Renegades, many more have passed their legacy to us since 1971. Almost thirty (30) Renegades are existing donors to the Renegades Forever Fund. To sustain our Renegades’ Legacy and for future generations to experience the greatest team sport we so love, I urge you to contribute to both the Renegades Facility Fund and the Operating Fund, better to contribute on a recurring basis for budgeting purposes. With our combined efforts, we can achieve both goals and truly make Renegades Forever a reality. Please think big! This is not a $5 ask for beer money. This is a capital call to ensure the long-term viability of the club.
